Quail at the Runway?

Quail at the Runway? - 12/16/13 08:11 AM

Hello folks...new to the forum.
I've got a large yard where I operate my business at the south end of the Dyess AFB runway. Dyess is home to the B1 bomber and they do love to take off with the fires lit and really rattle the windows here in the office. I've been considering building flight pens here on the yard for pheasant and quail. Will the planes stress them to the point of no return or will they get used to it? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I can't speak for quail, but I do have hens and ducks and we live pretty close to a local runway. We get some WW2 harvards, and jet fighters taking off, and lots of small craft like Cesnas and large noisy helicoptors. For a start the hens were afraid, but they totally ignore them all now. Hopefully the same will go for your quail. Just make sure you have hiding places for them too.
