Yes he is gorgeous! I wonder if pheasants are much harder to raise than chickens.

It depends what you mean by harder. Many years ago I had some golden pheasants. The main problem is that they cannot be tamed, so it is harder to catch them and handle them. When you catch them by the tail, they leave the whole tail in your hand. They do not understand the notion of 'covering the pen from above' so they fly into it when scared and can break a neck or damage themselves. The male can make nearly as many decibels as the cock.The females are mainly silent. Apart from that they do not seem particular about the food or other aspects.
