One of my hens has a growth coming out of her mouth which literally appeared overnight and grew over the course of the day.
Any thoughts on the diagnosis or chances of treating this?

I have attached pictures below

Bloody--looks like some kind of battle or injury, . Isn't it her tongue that has been damaged and is swelling, was caught on something?

Rinse with diluted salt water? It may clear up okay? She may need antibiotics (via eyedropper) if infection develops? And continued swelling could choke her? Pretty unusual injury. Good luck! CJR

Thanks a lot.

The salt water worked really well. The tongue disappeared after about an hour and the chicken is back to normal.

I would condsider an allergic reaction to some form of mycotoxin ,being only one bird was affected ,I would guess it was from free rangeing or perhaps scratching up a bit of mouldy food from under litter or maybe this particular bird is more sensitive than others
