How many days does it take for our Dutch hens to become infertile after we seperate them from a cock? They have been penned up with 1 rooster for awhile and we want to breed them to another so we want to be sure they are completely infertile from the first rooster. Thanks for your help.

Can't say FOR SURE. Many say: 2 weeks. Some say: longer. (And hope the hen will still be laying!) It would be usual and can be expected, for the last cock to cover the hen, to be the sire. You choose. CJR

Between one and two weeks works for me when I have genetic marker. Immediately following use of first sire, put hen in pen under second sire so second can start diluting the first birds sperm in the hen's reproductive tract. During the time the first birds sperm is dying, it is also being outnumbered by fresh recruits from second bird. By end of first week all eggs for me will be fertilized by second bird but another week is allowed for insurance, then begin setting clutch.
