I have a young rooster who has lost the the ability to bare weight on his legs. They don't seem paralysed, and there is no sign of injury. He lives with one other rooster who is very attached to him and they never fight. He eats with relish and drinks, (I put food and water in front of him). The only other odd thing is he has never crowed. He is a homebred mutt.
Any ideas?

Marek's Disease? No treatment, no cure, but sometimes there is recovery, sometimes sudden death. No pain, and will eat and drink, if he can reach his food. Often cockerels show first symptoms at about 10-12 weeks, Pullets, at first laying. Keep up HOPE.

I've read that heavy load of internal parasites can affect the ability to walk/stand.
