Last year I hatched some eggs of what should be Wheaten Marans. Several hatched. Cockerels were wheaten alright, but pullets turned out to be buff columbian. Luckily they lay fine eggs.
I'm curious whether people in other countries also try to sell anything on the Internet , hoping it will not be discovered?
I know it's common for plants to be sold with a wrong identity on purpose (especially from the UK), but animals?

Apart from the Cream Legbars that I mentioned on an earlier post Ive not had the kind of problems you mention. Iíve been buying from eBay since it first started with eggs. There have been occasions when the chicks were weakly or the growers of poor colouration which made me wonder whether the birds pictured as the parents were in fact so.
As an aside I had no idea that the UK had a reputation for selling mislabelled plants. Sharks everywhere, huh!
Interesting that the pullets all expressed columbian but the cockerels did not.
