Hen-Gen Ruler of the Roost Registered: 10/01/05 Posts: 1184 Loc: Island of Fetlar, Shetland	Despite ‘googling’ I have no understanding of the genetic configuration of the colour designated as platinum. I have bred some Barred Splash birds which look identical to birds said to be platinum (the presence of barring seems to prevent the pigmented spots seen so often in splash birds). Henk69 Moderator Classroom Professor Registered: 02/13/06 Posts: 3246 Loc: Netherlands	Platinum is one dose Blue (Bl) and one dose Dun (I^d). The tone of the color is similar to a lot of other diluted colors like lavender, khaki, mauve etc...
