I've had to move my 4-week old chicks out of the house (no room) and onto the patio. It is 114 degrees outside. The patio is covered. I have a fan blowing across half the pen (4x4) with a mister in front of it. The chicks seem to be doing ok. At times they are in front of the fan. Is there anything else that I can do to help them adjust to the heat? Sometimes the ameraucana chicks pant but not the silkies.

You might consider seeing if the vitamin and elecrolyte solution could be given to them. I know that I give it to my flock when it gets really hot, and it seems to help them cope. I'm just not sure if it would be okay to administer this solution to chicks of that age. Good luck!
