I was away and when I returned I noticed that one of my roosters (a banty in a 6 x 4 run) has a cracked beak. It is on the top. Tried to search but found nothing. Can I do anything or will he be ok? He seems to be eating. He will peck scratch feed from my hand but does not always eat it. Thank you- Lisa

Beaks are like finger nails, they grow out with time. The main thing is watching out for the blood vessels in it, like quick in cats and dogs nails. I would recommend filling it with super glue and repeating as necessary. I use super glue on really bad cuts and skin cracks for myself so I do not see how it would hurt a chicken.

i have super glued about a 1/8" piece of the tip of a roosters beak on, but the tip broke off again in a couple days. you should try to glue it back on if you have the broken piece, if not you should file the rough edges off so it doesnt splinter or chip anymore...just like you would do with your fingernails.
