I have a line of W.C. Black Polish that are developing white feathers in their wings as they approach 2 years of age.

I've read that it could be genetic or Stress?

Any ideas how I can narrow down what is causing this?

Stress marks more often appear in tail feathers. I would suspect genetics. CJR

That happens in some black breed lines more than in others. They start out with some white feathers as chicks then molt into a good black, then as they age they regrow some of those white feathers. I have seen some old blacks which were nearly mottled.

I have some Black Leghorn x Ancona which show this trait. Could yours be carrying the mottled gene?

That's probably what happened with my Black Giant. She's about three months old and she's lost all the white feathers she had, but one wing feather is still tipped in white. Interesting.
