i was given an old "little giant still air incubator" model 5200 today from a family friend. i have it plugged up right now and the thermometer in it is right on 100 degrees in the center. i have never incubated eggs before. is this a pretty good incubator? all the pro's and cons are welcome. it was free so it's not like i lost something if it's no good, i just wanna know before i use it. thanks

I think that most of the still air bators have hot spots and cool spots. If you are turning by hand, also rotate the eggs around the incubator. Good Luck!

Don't forget to add something that measures the humidity inside of the incubator. You may want to move the thermometer around in the incubator to find the hot and cold spots. I agree on rotating the eggs around the incubator during the incubation.
