Hi My question is about the nesting habits of
Guinea's. I was mowing my pasture yesterday and saw a small Guinea nest that had 5 eggs. Sometimes they lay in the chicken coop but we find eggs in many different locations. I would like to provide a place for them to nest but I don't have a clue.
Thanks
Roy

Let them nest where they will because they will anyway. If you want to hatch in an incubator or under a hen, then note where they are laying and mosey over there when you think that they aren't looking and grab a few. You might remember that they are colonial nesters (more than one hen per nest) and that the eggs that are left behind should be subtly marked in some way so that you only take 'fresh eggs'. Be forewarned that if they spot you at the nest, they will usually abandon it and start another elsewhere. Good luck.
