Does anyone know where I can purchase/order a wooden poultry carrier? You know the kind used for transporting chickens to shows? I see them at all the shows and was counting on my husband to make some for me but apparently this is NOT on his agenda! frown I am looking for a multi-hole bantam carrier in particular. Thanks for any help!

If you can't get a purpose built one, there are good cat carriers such as the blue and grey one on the following link. I use one similar to this all the time for transporting poultry and you can get a small water container which will clip on the door. I have one with an antispill rim which works well. Cat carrier

A friend in VA used to make them. He may still do it. Write to me and I will send you his email address. He will be at the Delmarva Show, November 16-19 They are very neat and attractive. CJR

Ah....the power of the almighty dollar!! I got a quote on 2 bantam boxes with shipping and I showed it to my hubby. There was a moment of silence. He asked me to draw up a picture and off to Home Depot he went! He made 2 carriers (3 hole) and they are perfect! No fancy engraving or anything like that but they were CHEAP CHEEP! laugh

Thanks for the help!

We were lucky to be given some plastic storage crates about 40cm sq by the generous local council. I think we were supposed to put recycling in them laugh wink . Some scrap welded mesh made a lid - total cost FREE. holds 2 chooks or upto 4 bantams.
