Ok, so if I have lots of snow in the winter, does the 8ft per layer-hen include the attached run if they can't really use it sometimes in the winter? Or is it 8ft per bird in the coop?
And does anyone have a 4foot by whatever sized coop? Is the 4feet too small to get into? confused

No, it is an estimate for floor space inside the coop and does not include space for feeders waters, nest boxes, roosts and droppings board, windows, doors. Small coops can be a pain to clean and service the birds, if they spill water, or other catastrophes. It is so much better, if they can be easily accessable to all parts and for temporary changes. If you have a chance, view others coops or pictures of a number of different designs. Do you need some websites? I have a Coops section on my website, with a few pictures. CJR
