If the puppy is healthy, and the chickens are healthy - no problem, let them poop wherever they want. But, if the puppy does have intestinal parasites and is being treated with medication, it is best to keep him away from your flock and clean up after him til he's healthy and doesn't pose a risk to your birds, or anyone else - (children, cats, other dogs) who may come in contact with the feces.

I don't know if it came from my pup or if it was just a coincidence, but when he had the parasites(so bad he was bleeding from the behind), I too became violently ill. I cleaned up after him constantly, and thoroughly washed my hands each time - or so I thought. I don't know to this day if I caught it from him - but I sure was sick.

I would never let a dog poop where IT wants, they poop where I want them to! My Beagles were trained to not poop even on trails in the woods and fields, who wants to step in that!! I have got rid of dogs which couldnt learn where to go.stupid dog!
