I am a 4-H poultry leader, and I'm quite knowledgable on showmanship. I was invited to teach a commercial poultry class for the FFA here in Arizona, and I'm looking for information pertaining to commercial judging. This would be dealing with what to look for in broilers, egg producers, and egg qualities inside and out. If anyone has ever done this or has information on this, I would certtainly appreciate your help.

I would get in touch with Don Schrider (Don Schrider)

Don breeds Brown Leghorns and Buckeyes and can tell you how to use the Standard of Perfection and Jull"s Practical Poultry Judging,to help you gauge production qualities and also enhance those traits in a breeding flock .

Have you tried contacting the University of Arkansas? They participate in broiler, egg and layer competitions every year and I'm sure would love to help you out on information like this.

There's also Dr. Jason Emmert from University of Illinois that used to teach at the University of Arkansas. He WAS the teacher of the poultry judging team.

Other than that, I can go over some very basic things in a PM if you'd like?
