Since the main purpose of growing our own is to eat healthy meat, I personally wouldn't eat a sick bird or one who had something suspect show up while butchering or in a necropsy.

Others may have a different opinion.

Not harmful, just because of Marek's, but I sure wouldn't eat any chicken that was feeling poorly!
It is usual that a bird will be thin before you see any symptoms, so the bird would not be suitable, anyway. Marek's virus itself does not harm people or other species.

Even the many Bacterial exposures in our food, such as Salmonella, are still not harmful IF COOKED WELL. And that is a more common exposure. CJR
