does anyone know of a wormer that can be giving to laying hens for worms that you can still eat the eggs.I have several RIR hens laying good and i had one to get sick and i took her away from the flock and i gave her a wormer called wazine but you can't eat the eggs for 14 days i want to know if there is a wormer or a preventive that can be given to laying hens that you can still eat the eggs.

It is not a good thing to worm a sick bird. The wormer is itself a poison, should be used with care, and a weakened bird because of sickness is not in a condition to stand the poison. If they need worming, it should be done while they are in active health. I believe all wormers have a withrawal time for use of eggs. The product should specify this. Good luck, CJR
