Yes, 28 days...and 29 is not unusual if the eggs are cold, old or extra large.

Pretty much all literature cite 28 days.

A person on another board claims that peafowl eggs in the northern or high humidity areas take 28 days, while those in warmer and drier climates take 26 days.

I have no idea what to say about that except I am in southern California and the eggs very reliably hatch at 26 days. 27 at the very latest.

Thanks everyone. My peahen is sitting on 5 eggs on top of a pile of sand- no nest or anything else and the wind just about blows her off her nest at times. It is interesting to watch as she trys to borrow down to stay put. I don't dare try and move her.
