We live in the Dominican Republic, paradise with bugs!
Our friend has gone on holiday to Canada and left us to watch his house, staff and his two turkeys, and we all know nothing about them? (He does it just for fun too).
The hen laid 8 eggs of which only 6 hatched and these have been scurrying around the beachfront garden since birth. Suddenly the hen has started trampling them and stomping them to death??!!! Is this normal? Is there a reason? Is there anything we can do?
(The male and female turkey are free ranging with a few ducks, 6 chickens and a cockerel, 2 guinea fowl and a couple of sheep for information).
Would very much appreciate some comments on why the mother kills the young in this manner and if there's anything we can do to stop it?

Probably something has alarmed the hen and she's gone into a defensive mode. Unfortunately, sometimes the poults get trampled when this happens. If you can, capture the remaining poults and put them in a brooder. It doesn't have to be fancy, a cardboard box with a light bulb for warmth (you probably don't need much additional heat where you are, though) and a small dish of feed and water for them and they should be ok. Just remember they are babies and to keep an eye on them. Hope they do well for you!
