Is there a way to candle turkey eggs. I tried with a mag light. Those shells are so thick. I have about 2 dozen under hens and I would like to pull out any unfertile. A few felt like water so I pulled them. These are all first eggs and first timers for the tom so I know not all will be fertile.

Hi Tiffany-
I also use a mag light at night, so it's very dark, and at one week I can usually see something, eye spot, webbing of veins, etc. but it is difficult. I only pull eggs that are definitely culls, stuck to shell, cloudy, cracked, at that time. If you wait until later, week 3+ it's obvious when eggs are clear as at that time you should only see the air sac on the big end.
