I am getting closer to making up my mind on the getting turkey idea, but I have one more question. I have read that they eat basically everything green. Should I expect them to eat to the ground in the pen? If so, that would probably make up my mind. I don't want a big mud pen in my yard. Any other info. you could give me would be appreciated. I am really wanting a pair or Royal Palms but want to get all the information before I get them and regret it.

They will clear it just like chickens. I actually think they eat a bigger plant variety than chickens do. They certainly do a number on my flower beds.

I suspect you'll find anything that has a natural range well into the north will eat just about anything. In winter you eat what is edible or die. I'm still snow covered. Got a major storm yesterday again. I can see the turkeys pulling the buds off some of the brush near the back. The feeder is full. They still forage.
