This morning when I went in to feed my chicks, I was stopped dead in my tracks when my 9 week old started crowing at me! laugh I ran to wake up and tell my husband, who was not quite as thrilled especially when the roo didn't crow for him, but I got to hear about 4 or 5 strained crows and BOY..it was exciting! I was almost positive he was a he, now I know for sure. I'm hoping he is the only one out of the 4. They also all did great while I was on vacation cool ...and got BIG..and even bigger top knots!

How fun! The juvenile crowing is usually rather amusing to hear. It takes them a while to work it out. I've had some that I swear sound like a goose honking! LOL! smile

I have a Dominique hen that makes a honking sound. Not trying to crow. Just honks. We named her honker for it.
