Ok I just got 20 Cornish x Rocks from Mcmurray yesterday (Monday). Today they all have HUGE crops like they are all going to POP. This never happened to my layers when they were small. I planned on feed restricting them on the 5th day, should I start now? As always any info would be greatly appreciated. smile

Chicks? Full crops do really show up on some breeds of chicks--a l ittle to one side. What are you feeding them? CJR

CJR, I am feeding them medicated chick starter mash ONLY no grass no bread no NOTHING just chick starter. I have not even given them any grit yet since I don't have them on bedding yet (using a measured cut piece of carpet WELL WASHED right on the floor of their brooder).

Oh and also using vitamins in their water.

They should be okay--those who raise these broiler types may tell you when/if to restrict their feed in any way. Meantime, I wouldn't worry just now. Later, they may have to have feeding time limited. Good luck, CJR
