I was given a gaggle of geese. 9 African and Chinese. 3 are males, the rest females. All mature.

I need to clip their wings. The place they used to live was an orchard where they couldn't fly. My place is a wide open, rolling hills type of place where it is easy to take off. I'm wondering if geese are the same as chickens in that approaching and catching them at night is the easy, non-stressful way.

The geese in the temple of Juno on the Capitoline Hill were said by Livy to have saved Rome from the Gauls around 390 BC when they were disturbed in a night attack.

That bodes ill for a sneak up wing clipping. I guess it's the run and net procedure.

The goose rodeo was a success.

They herd nicely so I was able to get them into a smaller area. I just cut the primaries of the right wing. Now the gate to the pasture can be left open and hopefully none will be able to fly.

And we will be safe from the Gauls.
