Butchering is not just age, it is the size you like, for fryers, for roasters. Weigh them, subtract 1-2 pounds for dressed weight you like. I would guess that at 12-14 weeks you would have some good size for the freezer? I would NOT cull them--store chicken is no substitute!

Feed costs are hitting us all. Can you free range part of each day? Or are you under snow with the Nor'easter that swept up the East ooast?
