Love, NZ, but will never be there again! So glad I spent time there when I could--OZ, also. We are just starting Autumn, and wonder what Global Warming will bring us this Winter? Maybe up and down, cold and then VERY COLD. Chickens don't seem to mind, but I do not let them outside if their pasture is wet or full of snow (makes dirty feet that make their pen wet and nests and eggs dirty.) There will be lovely sunny, cold days, and with their house-windows low and on the South, that heats their whole pens. And they stretch and "sun" in their nice dry cedar shavings pens or "sun" and preen on low roosts that also receive the "low in the sky" Winter sunshine! Enjoy your lovely Springtime--into Summer. And those EGGS--my bantams are slowing down for winter. This is the first year since 1986 that I have not hatched Dutch Bantam chicks--next year?? IF I AM STILL HERE? Best wishes ......
