Im planning on using my foam little giant as a hatcher. In my cabinet incubator I am struggling because of having to raise the humidity the last three days and two days after. So I have 5 days a week that my moisture is way to high for the eggs that are still incubating. Any suggestions out there on how I should use this foam bator for hatching, as far as how you get the humidity up to 65% in foam bators. Also since Im not hatching anymore out of my cabinet, what is a good humidity to run it at. Ill be moving eggs 18th day to foam bator. So far after doing this a week or two , still having less than 50% hatch.
A good wet bulb temperature for a setter is 85-87 degrees F.

How you raise the humidity of the hatcher depends on how many eggs you have in it. If you are hatching at half capacity or less you can close up the vents more than you would for a full capacity set. If you can't close the vents you will have to increase the surface area of evaporation. This is done by increasing the size of the water pan or putting damp sponges or something else like paper towels in the water pan or on the rack with the eggs. You can't let the sponges or paper towels touch the eggs. Some people keep a spray bottle of water in the incubator and mist the eggs once or twice a day with the warm water.
