Can you refrigerate eggs that are fertilized and still raise chicks from them?
Refrigerators often get to cold to store the eggs. Try to keep them no colder than 40 degrees///
My grandmother swears up and down that you can and she's been hatching chicks for over 70 years. I've tried twice and had no luck.
Jessman/k.Daniel, Your grandmother is right, of course, you can, if they are in a part of the fridge that is about 40-45f, and they are still very fresh, and you are lucky, but just do not count on a good hatch, or one at all. (We did not have a refrigerator 70 years ago). The basement was/and still is, for me, the place of choice for even temp of about 50f. Since it just isn't recommended, why do it?? To show that you can, and then fail or get a very poor hatch, proves nothing at all! When I want chicks, I try to follow best practices. Have to think about these things! CJR
