If I put eggs in incubator on march 23 at 800pm and temp is right all the way through , what would be your hatching day. I know theres conflicting ways to calcualte the days. These are old english bantams.
thanks again

if i've read the postings correctly, i think the standard incubation period for all birds would be 21 days. That is the only time period that i have read on this site

Bledsoe, If you started them late in the day, March 23, they should hatch tomorrow or Tuesday--21 days. Good luck!! CJR

Cjeanr is looking at the April calendar. The chicken eggs usually hatch the day of the week that you set them 21 days (three weeks) later. March 23 was a Saturday, so expect a Saturday hatch. Chicken eggs will hatch between 18 and 23 days under normal incubation conditions, but the vast majority of chicks will hatch on day 20 and 21. If the temperature is low the hatch can drag for many days.

You should have seen pips on Saturday. If you do not have chicks today candle the eggs to see if they developed at all.

Sorry about that,Bledsoe, Rokimoto, is of course, right-(-too late at night?, poor lighting on the little calendar or ???) So, if nothing hatches at all, do not be discouraged. If you candled the eggs and they were fertile, you must check the incubator operation--temperature, especially, but also humidity, following incubator instructions. We have all suffered great disappointments in hatching and work at it until it is successful! CJR
