i have a used tx-6 incubator in my classroom with no directions.everything is working great except that i can't figure out how to hook up the automatic turner.i need to figure it out soon as the weekend is coming and i won't be able to turn them by hand !
Olhen, The wire attachments from the turner to the bottom of the incubator are two different lengths, but they hook from bottom up into two small holes on one side of that "blue" base. You may have to turn the wire hooks a little to fit into the holes. The wire "arm" hooks over one of the handles of the dome, sometimes hard to hook it over. Then plug the wire into the top of the dome. You can test it by holding down the red button and see that it pulls and then pushes the dome around the bottom, which moves the eggs gently one way and then sort of back a ways. It moves the eggs every hour.
cjr...thankyou for the good advice.i have 63 preschoolers that will be very happy to know that our baby chicks will be safe.we will try candling today or tomorrow

Be sure to unhook the wire arm and unplug the turner, when you open the incubator to candle the eggs, but do not have to unhook or move the turner motor. Lift the dome off very carefully, so you do not jar the eggs, if it is hard to lift. Don't be afraid to open the incubator the 4th or 5th day after starting incubation, to candle the eggs and examine each egg to see the red "spider", which is the developing embryo. After a few more days, it is just a blob and not so interesting to watch. Check every egg gently, and remove any that remain clear after a week. They will not ever hatch. Good luck, CJR
