The Classroom @ The Coop: Incubation/Raising Chicks: Don't want to know the answer, but

I had an incubator running for three days with a load of turkey eggs. I discovered this morning that it was unplugged, perhaps for as long as 36 hours. :( It is in a room with a lot of other machinery and while not extremely noisy, was just enough to mask the absence of sound from the incubator fan. I have all of the eggs back under heat, now, but am I wasting my time at this point? The temperature was 72*F when I discovered this.

Thanks.

I don't know since I've never hatched turkey eggs but...the rotator in the incubator where my chicken eggs were was off for about 3 days. It was broken but it got fixed. The eggs have hatched without any problems from the rotator.

Candle the eggs in 6-7 more days and see. If you see no veins and development you might as well throw them out.

Thanks, both of you. I candled last night and can see at least three live eggs yet, so it wasn't a total loss. Just a mere 90%! I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope when I candle again I may see more, but won't count on it. Heck of a learning experience!
