What do you suggest? I have a chick that is definately suffering. I need to put it out of it's pain.

put it in your freezer in a zip lock bag. dies in about 4 minutes hardly suffers. just falls asleep. dies in sleep. hey, the way i'd rather go. in my sleep that is. then remove zip lock bag and burry it whole. proper burial is important to our family. for all animals who pass on.

blunt object agaist the head (just turn your eyes away when you do it). dies immidiately and proper burial is the last human thing to do, I agree. Shaking will follow, but you can be sure the chick is long dead by that time.
