I have some silkies and was wondering how to sex themso I don't have to feed extra roosters just to have to cull them. Are silkies layied back? Can the roos stay together?
We have had silks for long time and it is difficult to determine the sex for long while. There has been up to 6-7 roos in pen together with couple dozen hens, they scrap some but not seriously. Many breeders keep batchelor pens of roos, sometimes you get a fighter and have to remove him.
