Help! my black silkey cock doesn't get very exited around the ladies. I'm starting to wonder if he's infertile, or just if he's a gay rooster. [And if he is gay, i respect his decision as a chicken greatly.] I've tried seperating him from my hen, but it doesn't make a difference ~ and i don't want to get into artificial insemination. Any suggestions???

Jlvb: Have you set any of your eggs to see if in fact your black silkie cock is infertile? He may be shy when you are around and may in fact be breeding successfully with the hens.
