1. I'm looking for an internet picture source for game birds.
There are several good sites on the net to see pictures of Game birds but they are chickens. I would try to find a bird club close to you to get a more definite ID. As to what you should do with your birds it depends on why you wanted them in the first place? They will lay eggs and they will eat bugs and they will be a constant source of entertainment.
I also have game birds, received them unintensionally
Game chickens can be used for pets. The easist way to tell game chicks is by how they stand and wing poster. If their wings are longish and go down farther than usual, than it is most probaly game.
2. How can I tell if the 3 month old chicks I have
are game birds or some barnyard mixed breed of chicken?
3. Other than cock fighting and showing, what can game birds be used for?
I bought 7 chicks from a stockyard sale and the man I bought them from said, "That's them big white layin' hens". So three months later a friend says they look like game birds to him, but he's no chicken expert either! What the heck do game birds look like and what's the easiest way to tell the difference between them and chickens? Is there any reason for me to try to keep these birds, or just chalk it up as a loss and buy from the hatchery next time!
