Gidday from the ends of the earth.
We love chooks but have always lived in town. Now we have our own land and are just starting our family it seems to me that Rocks are they way to go.The differance between N.Z. and everywhere else from what i have noticed is that our Coop is Free Range? I mean we have a chook house and thats it, no fence or anything. We are lucky enough not to have anything that would eat our birds (except us) in the area. Is there a great differance between our flock waaay down here and the rest of the worlds birds? I dont know of any rock breeders that are helpfull here down under...
If you are Contact me

Cheers

Lucky you, that's the best way to have chickens. We were able to do that when we lived in a very remote area of Kentucky. We now live in NC and we have a large covered run. We have many hawks in the area, also owls, racoons and who knows what else. I watched a hawk walk across the chicken wire cover over the run, checking out the birds! He won't get a chance!
