Our Barred Rock hens are seven months old. On December 1st, the first egg was laid. They have been laying one egg per day since. Not one egg per hen, just one egg altogether. I am wondering if it will be much longer until they all begin to lay?
Your pullets should be laying by now. Are you in the Northern Hemisphere? Look to length of day, nutrition (they should have all the 16% protein feed they will eat, along with oyster shells), cold or drafty buildings, stress, or other problems that would cause them to delay production. Describe your situation and lots of people on the board will probably try to help.
