Suggesting that you put neosporin in it then pack it with Pine Tar... this should keep her from pecking... do you see any sign of leg mites? That might need to be taken care of as well... Many have suggested using campho-phenique. Mine suggestions may not be as good as others tho so be sure to take all advice posted and go from there. Good luck.

Kerry

Have you tried K-Y jelly on the leg.
Or orna scale or scalex for precaution even though you see no mites.
For parrots and other critters that chew there is a product called bitter apple that you spray on the bitter taste is supposed to keep them from chewing at it.
or try a denim patch over the wound as chickens dont like the demin(blue jeans) and usually will stop biting at it.
sometimes a fresh bandage just befor dark will last longer. the chicken won't peck at it at night.

good luck hope my tips help

Thankyou for replying the worst is now over we think, although she did start pecking between the toes on the other foot, our local vet gave us what he called his secret weapon and that seems to have worked, she is still sporting a nice blue plaster/band-aid,we have treated all the girls with a mite repellent, once again thankyou for your help from wet and windy Scotland

Update she's at it again as soon as one bit heals she starts on another bit, have now got a big medicine cabinet, we have decided that she has a mental health problem ,no bug's no mites all treated for

I've heard that parrots often have this problem.
