Hi you all. Once again I need some help. Today after a down pour of rain....I discovered a small pullet sitting in her pen with her head on the ground. I picked her up and she cannot move her head. Its like her neck is broke but I have felt all around and found nothing wrong. I suspect that she may have botulism(sp) but am not sure. She was fine yesterday. I now have her in my home to watch for other symptoms but shes not doing anything. She just lays there still...no movement at all. I have forced some water into her crop because shes not doing anything at all as far as eating or drinking. Her eyes look ok...poop ok....and no discharge from eyes or nostrils. It has me at a loss! Only thing I can think that it may be is Botulism.I have considered Mereks but dont really think that thats whats wrong. It came on to fast and I havent had a problem with mereks in a while. Anyone have any suggestions or opinions as to what could be wrong...and what to do to help her?

Check out this site and bookmark it for future reference:

I have never dealt with botulism but it fits the description on this page. This page also tells how to treat it -- forcing water and also epsom salts.

Good luck! So sorry you are coping with it. I'm sure it's hard. But I would try to find the source so you don't end up with more sick birds!
