i recently acquired a pair of hamburgs.they are white but their father was silver spangled and mother was white.their quality is only fair and i would like to improve them. i have excellent quality blacks and was wondering if i could use them to improve the quality and still get whites? if i can what birds do i put together?
To be honest I'd just start with better birds.
thanks rokimoto. i will take your suggestion and purchase better stock. i am going to cross the white male with the black female and see what happens anyway.

It sounds like you are dealing with dominant white and you will have a problem breeding a clean white if you cross them to your blacks. Dominant white needs a lot of help to get a clean white and you may bring in some red factors that dominant white doesn't dilute very well.
