I am writing inquiring as to people's experience with muscovy duckling coloration and final adult color. I have heard that the wild pattern can lend itself to a bird that has more white in the body and dark coloration in the caruncling. While the dusky or more solid duckling stage makes the black a darker greener sheen to it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Hi Tajj, also post this under the "Waterfowl" heading if you don't get any answers here. I'm a chicken person myself, a duck person would be more likely to look under the waterfowl topic heading.
I'm not sure about all muscovys but the wild ones here are very dark (mostly black with some white spots) and their ducklings look like mallard babies. I have no idea if this helps at all but thought I'd pass it along. Mina
Thank you
