Hi to all! just an odd question: I've just acquired a pair of Button Quail (Coturnix chinensis), they're adults, male wildtype colored, female is a silver mutation, they seem to me perfectly healty and active, I feed them chick nonmedicated starter, finch crumbles and egg softfood...I would like to breed them and see their tiny chicks (I've an incubator), but they're not laying at all! The male is not courting the female, and not crowing...I've read they're continuous layers, but I've not see an egg yet..are they seasonal breeders birds, maybe? I'm keeping them in my birdhouse, with no additional light added and we're in the middle of winter...
