Looking for unusual colored egg layers to add to my flock. I sell organic eggs as a gourmet item. I'd especially like to get some true Araucanas &/or a strain of Ameraucanas that lay the blue eggs. I'm pretty new to this poultry thing, so if anyone has any other suggestions, I'd appreciate it! Colored eggs are the key, here. Exhibition quality birds would be a plus. Are there any that lay speckled eggs, exclusively? I know I get speckles every so-often, but I think it's just a fluke, isn't it? (right now, I just have run-o-the-mill hens that are laying - Barred Rock, Buff Orps, RIR & some White Leghorns) I just got some started Barnevelders & Wellsummers & I'd like to find some Marans, eventually, too. . .&/or add more B-velders & Wellsummers to my flock.
While I'm at it, I'm also looking for: blue & laced Cochins, black & blue Langshans, Silver & Gold Laced Wyandottes & some good RIR's.
I will be getting into laying/dual-purpose ducks but probably not till next year - this year, we're focusing on chickens. Trying to, anyway! BUT - if you have a good deal on Khaki Campbells &/or Cayugas, email me anyway. . . LOL
Regards,
