Can anyone tell me if there is a guarenteed way of sexing very young Muscovy ducklings. I have 11 beautiful babies but due to fighting in the duck area am restricted to keeping only girls. Of the 11 babies, 5 have enormous orange feet and 6 have lovely delicate dark/black little feet. The ones with the small feet are smaller in general. Is it possible that my big-footed babies are boys ?
I am from Cape Town in South Africa. Is there anyone out there from my part of the world who has ducks at home? I have 16 Muscovys, 2 Dutch Quackers (!??spelling) and 2 fat red hens. We are busy building ponds and houses for all of them and I am really loving my new hobby. It would be great to make contact with people from South Africa.
I would appreciate any advice on the ducklings' sex and any other helpful tips about raising these fabulous pets.
Thanks ahead.

We live in southwest Florida on a saltwater canal in a cove.We have several Muscovys we feed seed, fish, and bread daily. They are quite prolific in breeding. We've had many ducklings... right now we have one mom with twenty-eight babies and another laying an egg a day... so far they are nine! What I want to know is what is the gestation period for this species. We have been only living at this location a year. We have been feeding all the birds, in fact we have adopted an American Bittern with a broken wing, we have named 'Wing Ding'. He lives in the mangoves and comes out just to eat the fish we catch for him. This has been going on since last August! We even put up a sign welcoming them all, saying...'Crewgulls Avian Cafe'.
