I have 2 female and one male Mandarin. One female is over two and the other is just now two. When I bought them I had two pair but an owl helped himself to the other little drake. Needless to say last year not one egg with two hens.I have put them in a small avairy all their own, made them a place to perch and nest. what else can I do? I hate to let these beauties just sit there and go to waste. Are they monogomas? Iknow people raise them or I would not have been able to buy them. Any input will be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Hi
Thanks for the answer. I tought no-one wanted to mess with it. I did not even know you answered until this morning. I had given up.I think I will remove the older hen and see what happens, What do you think? It seems a shame to isolate her, but maybe I'll get some babies and raise her a mate. Thank You Mama Gozzard

i have limited experience with mandarins but this is what i know, they dont do well wit hdomestic waterfowl they need to be seperate or with other wild waterfowl. they r arborial and nest high like in wood duck nest boxes and r mongamosus only one mate and arent usually fertile until their second year
