can any one tell me what the breed of goose is that was bred in missouri ? any info would be much appreciated . thanks meme
Are you asking for the name of a breed that was developed in MO? If so, do you have a description of it, the origin location, city or breeders name or what year?
I have no idea of any of that I know its the only breed ever bred in missouri . I also think its the only breed of goose that you can tell the sex by color . thanks for answering
The only breed of geese that you can sex adults by color is the Pilgrim. I kinda thought that was the breed that was developed in MO but was not quite sure. I will have to dig a little deeper in my books and see what I can find out.
Thanks for helping out . I think your right It does sound familiar . I hope I can find a hatchery around here that has them thanks , meme

Male Pilgrims are mostly white with gray secondary feathers and gray on the tail area, under the wings. The females are "dove" gray with a white band around their beaks which gets wider with age, approaching the eye area near maturaty.
It is a pretty rare breed but there are some hatcheries that sell them, if you are looking for birds for show purposes I can recommend only one hatchery. If you are looking for breeders to purchase from there is one spectacular flock in Wisconsin.
I have been trying to find verification that this is the breed developed in MO but I cant find it. I will keep looking for you though.
