wood ducks

The Classroom @ The Coop: Waterfowl: wood ducks
By Copper on Thursday, December 3, 1998 - 10:50 pm:

Thanks for the info. Hopefully we will get to see them. There are several dead trees around and the flickers and wood ducks fill the holes every year. Also our local FFA and high school biology classes put up more nest boxes in the area every year so we have quite a few w. ducks around. I wondered about the ones we raised because they were kept with our four bronze and bourbon turkeys while we had them in the house. Even after we moved them outside they would all kind of flock together when they foraged in the yard. It was quite something see. Four big turkeys and four little ducks all in a line, chasing down grasshoppers. Lots of laughs at that one. When the ducks started to fly they must have decided they weren't turkeys cuz they pretty much quit hanging out together. Ha Ha. Thanks again for your reply! }:~]
