I know that samonella is passed during the processing of chicken for food. But I am ready to adopt some chickens to add to my flock and one of the kids who play with the chickens got samonella. I have never heard of this being carried and passed by live chickens. (PS I am a vegetarian...and just love raising chickens)Anyone knowing of this please let me know.I have already called the co-op extension of my state and they have not heard of this.
I too wonder about salmonella. Does anyone know how long it lives outside a chickens body?
