This may sound 'strange' but...try the sun! My neighbor found a chick under the same situation...
We used a droper to apply a few drops of 0xytetracyclin HCI (antibiotic)and Purina VITA-POULT (SOLUBLE VITAMIN PACK), not much change. She then isolated her baby and put her in a bedding of a large
clear soda plastic bottle with the top cut off (clear),and locked up her inside cats, and placed her little darling in the window for sunshine. Her husband (a day sleeper) woke up every hour or so and stimulated the chick with a pet and shifting about, by that evening Clearese had a name and was ready for a box, lightbulb bedroom lamp , and food/water! In the morning she was peeping and walking about...jumping out of the box! Needless to say, Clearese rejoined her family back in the barn. It's been 3 days and she's the most active. My Giant black didn't make though...I didn't notice till late afternoon. Put her in the sun, and she started peeping and standing...but passed away to that chicken coop in the sky by morning.
It may have been the luck of the draw...who knows, but it's sure worth a try when there's nothing else to try!

Sunshine & fresh air are working for one of my week-old chicks. He was practically comatose when he first arrived--wouldn't wake up to eat or drink. I put the chicks outside for a couple of hours each day while I clean the brooder pen, and he perks right up--a little unsteady on the legs, but will peck voraciously at food and drink. When I put him back in the brooder, though, he goes right back to sleep. I'm using a heating lamp with a red bulb--he might stay more alert if I had a regular white bulb in there.

(sorry for the untimely reply; this is my first time visiting this website!)

Hi Folks.
I think my chick may have ingested some adult chicken food and her head is bobbing up and down and it looks like she's gagging. Any suggestions? Please hurry!

Your chick might be choking. Try massaging (her) throat and crop. Be gentle, but don't pet it lightly. Some force is necessary. You might not want to force her to drink because if she's gasping for air, she might breathe in some water and drown. If she stops gagging, but still is choking. Some water might be necessary. If this doesn't work, try consulting some of the more expirienced people at the coop.
